Hear Directly from the Candidates

Candidate forums give voters the opportunity to hear directly from the people seeking public office. By asking the same questions of every candidate in a respectful, nonpartisan setting, the League helps voters compare ideas, priorities, and leadership styles before casting their ballots.

Why Candidate Forums Matter

Candidate forums give voters the opportunity to hear directly from the people seeking public office. By asking the same questions of every candidate in a respectful, nonpartisan setting, the League helps voters compare ideas, priorities, and leadership styles before casting their ballots.

Offices We Cover

Local offices
Bloomington mayor, City Council, and School Board.

State and county offices
Minnesota House and Senate districts serving Bloomington, as well as Hennepin County Commissioner and other relevant county offices.

Every candidate receives the same opportunity to participate under the same rules. The League does not endorse candidates or political parties. Our role is to ensure voters have access to fair, accurate, and balanced information.

Our Commitment

The League of Women Voters Minnesota and our local Leagues conduct candidate forums to provide the public with an opportunity to hear candidates discuss the issues that are important to members of the public.

The League is a nonpartisan organization that does not support or oppose any political party or candidate.

The views expressed in each forum are those of the candidates, not those of the League of Women Voters. LWV Minnesota and our local Leagues post complete, unedited recordings of forums.

Editing is authorized only for official media reporting. Excerpts or edited clips of candidate forums may not be used for partisan or political purposes.
